General Motors is expanding its presence in the Chinese market with the launch of the low-cost brand Baojun, created in partnership with partners SAIC and Wuling. Baojun models, first of all, are aimed at buyers who are willing to spend no more than $ 10,000 on a car. The local competitors of the brand are Chery Automobile, Geely Automobile Holding and BYD.

First introduced in November last year, the compact 4-door Baojun 630 Sedan today entered more than 120 Chinese car dealerships. According to the manufacturer, the car will be sold in small cities.

Initially, the 630 sedan will be offered in three versions. Prices are set at around $ 9,757 - $ 11,466.

On the technical side, the novelty has a 450-liter tank, a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with 109 hp. (at 5800 rpm) and 146 Nm of torque (at 4200 rpm), 5-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive. Fuel consumption is 6.9 l / 100 km.

This year, GM plans to sell 20,000 Baojun 630 models.
